ait-group focuses on natural refrigerants and heat pumps for energy-efficient renovations

Kasendorf/Frankfurt am Main, March 2023. Rising energy prices, growing climate awareness, and generous state subsidies have catapulted heat pumps from the status of niche product to the heating technology of the future. At ISH 2023, the ait-group will come together with heating installers, wholesale partners, and designers to discuss how heat pumps can be used efficiently both in existing buildings and as a local heating solution for entire neighborhoods. The product presentation at Booth E42 in Hall 12.0 will center on the latest high-temperature heat pumps under the two ait brands, alpha innotec and NOVELAN, which will be represented together for the first time at a trade show.

The fundamental benefits of heat pumps as a climate-neutral source of heating in new builds has become firmly ingrained in the consciousness of both homeowners and the sanitary, heating, and air-conditioning trade in recent years. “We notice that customers are inquiring much more specifically about the possible applications. That’s why our participation at the ISH exhibition will focus on two key aspects: heat pumps for energy-efficient retrofits in existing buildings and renewable heating solutions for entire neighborhoods,” explains Sjacco van de Sande, Managing Director AIT Group.

High-temperature heat pumps with R290 natural refrigerant

Two new high-temperature heat pumps will be showcased for the first time at ISH. These heat pumps are especially suitable for use in old buildings too, offering flow temperatures of more than 70 degrees Celsius and a heating capacity of up to 8 kW. Both the innovative Hybrox from the alpha innotec brand and the Helox from NOVELAN use the R 290 natural refrigerant and can switch to active cooling mode as needed. The developers focused especially on aspects such as low weight, fuel-efficient operation, and soundproofed design. “Both new products on show at the trade show are the culmination of our decades of experience in heat pump technology and use propane as a natural refrigerant. The proven inverter technology guarantees top efficiency values both in heating and cooling operation,” explains Edgar Timm, Director R&D at the ait-group.

alpha innotec heat pumps for every field of application

The “Paros” compact air-to-water heat pump allows heating, cooling, and hot water generation in one unit. Thanks to the flexible connection options through the roof or the outer walls, “Paros” will even fit in the attic and is also a conceivable solution for residential units in multistory buildings and groups of houses. The inverter-controlled machine operates quietly and energy efficiently.

With WZSV brine/water heat stations for indoor installation and the LWAV+ inverter-driven air-to-water heat pumps for outdoor installation, alpha innotec will also present two device series that are among the most efficient, most compact, and quietest devices on the market.

Easy to assemble and energy efficient

NOVELAN will showcase the energy-efficient LICV air-to-water heat pump for indoor installation at the trade show. With low noise emissions, not only can it heat, but also cool and prepare domestic hot water. The device is output controlled and adapts automatically to the current demand for heat and hot water. The LICV is compactly packaged complete with all modules and components as well as integrated transport aids and can be transported conveniently through narrow doors and staircases. The modular concept allows quick assembly.

Presentation area with talks on heat supply systems and neighborhood solutions

The product presentation will be accompanied by a fringe program in the dedicated presentation area of the booth. Talks on neighborhood solutions and heating concepts for residential areas are planned in German and English several times each day. “As the market leader in heat pump technology in Europe, we have played our part in implementing pioneering projects. During ISH, our experts will demonstrate that heat pump technology can do considerably more than supply a single-family home with heat and hot water. Thanks to the option of parallel or cascade connection and the flexible use of groundwater or waste heat, joint building ventures, building cooperatives, and municipalities can help shape the energy transformation in a very important way,” says van de Sande.
