FEDERAL MINISTER OF CONSTRUCTION GEYWITZ AT AIT: "HEAT PUMP ONE OF THE GREAT INNOVATIONS".

Yesterday, Federal Minister of Construction Klara Geywitz visited ait-deutschland GmbH, one of the market leaders in the manufacture of high-quality heat pumps, ventilation and cooling systems, at its headquarters in Kasendorf, Upper Franconia. She praised the heat pump "as one of the very great innovations and important technologies" to advance the heat transition.

"The heat pump is fascinating because it uses something that is there without wasting it," says the Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Construction, summing up the climate-friendly operating principle of the heat pump. Crucial to the heat and energy turnaround, she says, is "that we stop consuming and burning something to heat or cool our homes; instead, we use the natural heat cycle." That's exactly what the heat pump does, she said.

In this context, Klara Geywitz said, it is important "that we do not get into a new dependency" in terms of technology and skilled workers. Germany needs production capacities and training places locally, she said. The minister's discussion partners therefore included not only the management of ait-deutschland Sjacco van de Sande, Volker Einhäuser, Marco Roßmerkel and Edgar Timm, but also the trainees Hannah Schrüfer, Michael Schnippa, Laura Angeli and Leon Stiller.

From the Academy to the Technology Center

As a prelude to her summer tour "On the road for the home - building the future sustainably", Federal Minister Klara Geywitz visited ait-deutschland GmbH to gain an insight into the company's innovative heat pump technology. Her two-hour visit started at the company's training academy, followed by a detailed tour of production and a visit to the Technology Center. Here, in one of the most modern test centers in the industry in Europe, ait-deutschland's engineers put their developments and products through their paces in climatic and acoustic chambers in order to constantly improve them.

Her journey continued to Bamberg, where a new urban district is currently being built on the 20-hectare Lagarde site - with affordable housing for around 2,400 people and a pioneering concept for an environmentally friendly and sustainable heat supply. The innovative heat pumps from ait-deutschland will be used in the new quarter.
